Press Release - South Africans continue to break World Records

March 31, 2008

by Eugene Sam

Good to speak to you over the weekend I have got the final posted scores for you Heinrich slalom 20.8 and 20.4 tricks 11050 and 10550.

One judge had scored him the 540 to the front that would have made the score 11300 the other 2 had him on time.  We'll be sending the video to BFC so you can check the video and decide for yourselves if he is in or out of time.

Jump best was 76.44 feet. Heinrich's 11050 will be submitted as a Open and Junior and EAMI record the 10550 will be submitted as Junior World and EAMI records . The 20.8 will also be submitted as Open and Junior World Records and as Open EAMI records

Andre tricked 11,100 and 9350 then slalomed 19.4 and 19.6.  He jumped 82.34 feet.  Unfortunately Andre's trick run was downgraded to 9,700 after it was reviewed for record purposes.  He touched down on some 1 foots which cost him some points in the review.

Zane tricked a PB of 7,910 tricks and slalomed 17.00 (PB), and Jumped 74.14 feet (PB).  A great all around tournament for him.

All in all these kids had a great tournament.  Most people would give an arm or a leg to see Andre and Heinrich ski against each other like this week after week.  This was as good as a Worlds final with the same pressures.  We still have our Nationals to look forward to and both of the boys will be attempting 12000 points.  They each want to be the first to trick 12K.  So hold onto your seats, it's going to be a fun event to watch.
